I love Lotte's green melon ice cream. They're sold individually and when I buy them, I buy two at a time. Today, I took two plus a couple of others at 700 won each. When I was at the checkout, the cashier said "ande" and she wouldn't let me take the ice cream. I didn't understand so she made a 10 with her fingers. I ended up not getting the ice cream and I'm in a huff now because I need it! Please don't tell me E-mart now requires you to buy 10 Lotte ice cream sticks even though they're sold individually.

Good shot but I bought two other items she had no problem with and I got back 5,540 won in change for my 10,000 won bill.

Maybe - without knowing it - you're the crazy guy who goes through the egg cartons, picks out the two best eggs, and leaves the rest.

Is it because you had 10 ice-creams - and you were standing in the EXPRESS (5 only item) checkout??

(after you decided to only buy two - she allowed you) HEllo?

Was this the first time you've bought those ice creams at E-mart?

usually, next to the freezer, there is a plastic baggy in which you put 10 ice creams. this baggy has a UPC on it so the cashiers can scan it. It's usually really cheap to buy ice cream this way -- ie .. 10 of them probably cost something like 4,000 won.

i didn't realize that you couldn't buy them individually, as I usually just pig out and buy 10.

Hello? I took four. She wouldn't let me take 2 even. Hello?

I bought 2 loose ones last time though maybe it was at another store...I don't remember. Come to think of it, they even put UPC's on fruits and vegetables at E-mart so that might make sense. I will go back tomorrow and take 10 then if it's discounted at 10. I'll ask my co-workers too. Thanks!

The ones in freezer by the cashier you can buy individually. The ones in the ice cream section you have to buy 10 at a time. Sucks.

This has happened to me as well. They would only let me buy items in a predetermined quantity. Well, yes, I did see the sign for whatever quantity for whatever price but I didn't want to buy that many. Freakin' Nazis! Another beef about E-Mart is their ever fluctuating supply. They went 3 weeks last month with no tomatoes. Another time, they ran out of parmesan cheese and when I enquired, she looked at me cross eyed like she had never heard of the item in her life. One last bugaboo is that they do all their stocking during business hours instead of after hours. This causes tons of aisle congestion and is basically a pain in the @ss.
