Does anyone actually travel on their weekends? If so, do you find Koreans the most annoying people when they are having a break?
I've been to so many places in this country, and on just about every occasion I've come across Koreans who can't help themselves getting drunk and being just plain annoying.
Here are a few examples
a) Took the ferry from Mokpo to Jeju, beer and soju was consumed from 7AM and when we arrived in Jeju a fight broke out in front of me
b) Cheusok last year, up in a hut in the mountains in Jirisan, some drunk ajjuma started shoving soju and eggs in my face, encouraged by the rabble she was with
c) stayed in a lovely minbak in the forest in Songnisan, besieged by a bunch of office working ajjoshis who totally took over the place, I was made to one shot soju, Chivas Regal (they were drinking it like it was cheap crap) and forced to start singing an English song (which I somehow got out of)
d) hiking and having to listen to Celine Dion being pumped out of some old guys radio, totally wrecking any semblance of piece and quiet
e) Finished hiking, then being ordered where to sit on the bus as it was invaded by pink gore-tex clad ajjumas and their multicolored jacked wearing husbands who then pulled out the soju and started sculling it like first year uni students, yelling and screaming like idiots.
These are just a few of my experiences, it kind of leaves me with the feeling of not wanting to leave my apartment, as every foray out of it seems to be welcomed by pisshead/low class/low mentality/noisy/screaming Koreans.
I wouldn't call myself a Korea basher, but lately I feel so over this place, finding a nice and quiet place to enjoy in my spare time seems simply impossible due to the inhabitants of this nation.
Is it just me or do ALL Koreans turn feral when off the leash? |

I find that generally I'm able to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to turning into a drunken lout. |

You are living in the SOUL of asia. How dare you
complain about little things like that, in fact, I just watched
Charlie and the chocolate factory, and you remind me of
the little boy who complains about those little people who
are dancing all over the chocolate. koreans are the ones who
maintain the Paradise: Korea: soul of asia. Let them play,
WITHOUT them it would not be the soul....of..........asia. |

Koreans let loose when they get their very rare days off.
Koreans equal lots of noise with lots of fun.
It's a small country with 50,000,000 people. People usually don't go to an over-populated country for peace and quiet. |

Hilarious, he says this as though he's never been drinking with ajjoshis. |

Wouldn't "fuck you" suffice just as well? Hollywood movies and uncensored TV are quite popular over here, after all |

I find a picture of where I'd rather be, full-screen it on my monitor and just stare at it till my eyes get sore....Or, wait for my vacation and go elsewhere. For those exact reasons. |

Jesus Christ, stick up for yourselves people. Stare back at them, especially if you have green or blue eyes. Honest to God, it freaks them out. They can't handle it. |

Personally, I consider this sort of stuff part of the entertainment factor. I get a little disppointed when I go out into the big, wide world and nobody does anything crazy.
Though I got to admit, the old men busting loud tunes from their back packs does get slightly annoying when you're hiking up the side of a mountain.

The Chival Regal had to be skulled as they didn't have enough glasses.
Yes I was discussing this last night with my K g/f and she was saying that even in the countryside that's how they have a good time and let off stress.
After being here for nearly 2 years I should know that by now but still I often hope of a nice quiet weekend away from the city but every time it gets ruined. Time to join the masses here and stay home and save my money and spend it in places where you can have a better time. |

I don't know I think some people over here consider"f-you" to be equal to saying "good morning". Anyways the way Koreans get loose is one of the coolest parts about this country. |
