I attempted to use the search feature for an answer to this question but it appears to be crippled still. I was wondering if the E-2 visa requirements still required a test for THC. A friend is coming over and he wants to know if he can get high until he leaves , or if he has to give it up for a month like I did Laughing

Officially they aren't supposed to check for marij but they will anyway.

Every contract I have seen still insists that applicants be screened for drugs

Most Koreans believe pot is as bad as crack/cocaine & heroin Twisted Evil

Could anyone enlighten me on what kind of drug test the public school teacher program usually subjects people to? Urine, blood or hair? I'm willing to quit smoking a month out, but freaked when I read on the State Dept site that people have been arrested for testing positive via a hair test.

Also, is the drug test part of a medical exam after I get there or something I need to do before I go?

I just finished testing and passed with FLYING COLORS! There are two tests: TBPE and HIV. No hair testing, just blood -for HIV- and Urine - Drugs. Do some research regarding any medications you are taking that could indicate a false positive. I would just stop smoking before you come over. There's tons of information on the web regarding how long drugs stay in your system. THC is the longest staying because it is Fat soluable. It binds to your fat and as you burn that fat for energy THC metabolites are excreted in urine. Chronic smokers can take as long as a month or longer depending on duration of smoking, fat on your body, how active you are and your metabolic rate. All those drinking masks don't work! they're just diuretics/dilutions.

Don't go to regular Korean doctors, go to English speaking, western trained doctors who understand the required tests. They won't test (or at least won't report) marijuana as it is not required.

Better yet, don't smoke in Korea. You have 90 days to submit your tests and documents for your ARC. Stay clean in Korea, get your tests done after 30 days and it won't matter if they report a bud test.
