Anyone know the going rate for rum? I need at least 500ml-1L.
It's for a DIY project; we're tired of having to buy a particular baking product on the black market... |

| saw some bottles at Costco Ilsan for about 20 000 W (standard size bottles are 750ml so that should be enough?) |

| That sounds great. Definitely makes this DIY project much cheaper than buying the product off the black market. |

Black or White rum?
You can pick up a 40 oz of Captain Morgan for 30,000 at the Kobawoo Supa in Haebangchon (usually).
It's good shite! |

| Emart has Bacardi and 151, but also some Korean brand "Captain something", which wasn't half bad for 4,000. I highly recommend it. |

No, no, no!
The rum you're referring to is called Captain Q, I believe. I used to buy this all the time, thinking it was saving me money. But unless you have the liver of an 18-year-old, this stuff will give you some of the worst hangovers you've ever experienced. My first month in the country, I was pretty much completely immobilized every Saturday and Sunday because of the stuff. I thought it was just because I was getting old (I'm 24), but strangely enough, once I stopped drinking Captain Q, the hangovers were greatly reduced.
Buy Captain Q at your own risk! |

I bought some rum at E-Mart for 5000 (NOT Captain Q) but they don't seem to carry it any more.
The only place I have seen white rum is at the Kobawoo convenience store in HBC. |

Ha, yeah, Captain Q.
Well, I never had more than a glass or two, more of a pre-going out beverage or a take me down so I can go to sleep kind of thing.
OP has a DIY project, don't know what DIY you can do with rum. |
