I recently moved into a new apartment and enjoy listening to talk radio (AFN AM) as well as the occasional short wave broadcast (a hobby since I was a child).
I am also a licensed ham radio operator, both in America and here in Korea. The problem I have is that all of these use AM (amplitude modulation). Anytime I try to listen, all I get is static. Anyone else experience this before?
FM works fine, however. I've tried turning off everything in my apartment to see if something was causing interference, but that didn't help. There are no electrical substations or transformers nearby either. Any advice? |

North and South Korea used to have lots of jamming going on to block each others stations. The South doesn't block stuff from the North as much these days, but it does happen from the other way around.
I'll bet your located next to some electrical interference if it's not that. |
