Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew of site or place to get a comprehensive listing of Hagwons in Seoul. Is there a yellow pages, for example? Or if not for all of Seoul are there lists for specific Gu's or dongs, so for example, Hagwons in Gangnam? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. |

There is no "yellow pages" over here and even if there were it wouldn't be in English.
http://www.naver.com/ is about as close as you will get.
The best you will get is a search for 학원. You may be able to narrow it down a bit by searching for a specific type but you will need to input in and be able to read Korean to use it.
Alternatively, go to your local gu-office or local office of education and ask for the list of license holders in the area.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but just to expand a bit:
Are those two the best approaches for public schools as well? Is there a better way to get a fairly complete list of public schools in a given area? |

Ask the local (city) office of education or if you want a smaller area, the local Gu-office.
You will also need a Gu or city map to decipher the addresses.
If there isn't one on the wall of the gu-office you should be able to find one on the wall of the nearest pizza delivery shop or bu-dong-san.
