I'm looking to buy a 32" Flat Panel TV in the next few weeks, and I'm hoping I can get one for about 600,000W. I'm pretty much set on that size (anything bigger in my apartment would just be overkill), and price range (I'd be willing to go higher, but just from looking around Yongsan, I don't think I'll have to go much higher).

I just want to know what specs and stuff I should be looking for, because I don't know much about that kind of stuff. I'll mainly just be going by how the picture looks when I see it, but I don't want to be paying more than I should for outdated technology. I don't mind an older model (actually, with the budget I'm going with, I pretty much have to look at older models)....I just don't want to pay a new model price for it. So what kinds of things drive the price of a TV up, and are they worth it?

Also, any information about brands would be helpful. I understand Samsung and LG are actually at or near the top of the heap, which is good.

Any suggestions of where to buy would be great as well. I've been mainly looking on that street across from the Sun-in plaza, and the prices there seem good....I hope they will be even better when I'm ready to buy with cash in hand.

If there's a thread on this already, just point me in that direction. I looked around, but you can imagine how helpful the search was for this topic.

Don't bother worrying about 1080p at your size and price. Get Samsung if you can. It's better than LG. I think you're price expectations are too low. The higher the contrast ratio, the better. Dynamic contrast ratio is kind of a fudge on numbers. Go with a more recent TV, and you should be OK. Don't buy from an LG or Samsung boutique store. Shop at www.enuri.com for price ideas, and then check out ETLand in Yongsan.

The cheaper no-name brands only look good until you see a quick-moving image.
