Man, I used to love UFC. Now, it's not much different than wrestling. What's up with weight classes? It used to be cool when a three hundred fifty pound slob fought a hundred and sixty pound karate guy. Now it's boring. They stop the fights too soon. Guy takes three punches to the head and the ref calls it.

I don't get this sport. They take a few swings at each other, then spend the rest of the time grappling on the floor taking cheap shots at each other. That's when I go for the remote.

UFC blows now.

Brock Lesnar had no business getting that title shot at 2-1. Beats up a 45 year old man with a 16-8 record at that.

I'll stick to DREAM and Sengoku for real and legitimate MMA.

Yep. It was cool when it started, back when it had the "Bloodsport" vibe.

Now, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Tonight's fight card was pretty good if you ask me.

All the main fights ended in stoppages, nothing really resembling any type of Lay and Pray. If you guys thought tonight was boring, then you don't know the sport.

Don't worry. Nog will beat his ass.

Anyway, Fedor is the #1 Heavyweight in the world.

So apart from just now, when was the last time you actually watched? Weight classes first emerged in 1997.

It's much better now, I think.

When it was more barbaric and had no drug-testing (still absent pretty much in Japan) it was banned most everywhere in the U.S., and big politicians like John McCain wanted it outlawed.

It was necessary for UFC to refine its rules and sanitize its product some in order to get sanctioned by the major state athletic commissions.

The early days were just brutal mainly, in my opinion, because it was a blood sport. The guys today are just so much better trained-true mixed martial artists. Very few of the pioneers would last if they entered the octagon today. That being said, matches today can be boring from a spectators perspective if they don't understand the sport well enough. I also think that big Brock will have his hands full with Noguiera...
