I wouldn't say that's excessive. But I'm sure most medical people would.

Who cares. As long as he doesn't get stupid-drunk in public and bother people.

100ml of spirits per day is only 3-4 shots. Not excessive.

Yes,I should have also mentioned that he is always on time for work and never hungover.

It doesn't affect his daily functioning and he is a well respected employee.I guess a few glasses of scotch each night isn't doing him much harm. Thanks for your input Eamo.

Him asking you if it's excessive indicates (to me) that he himself is questioning whether or not it is. That alone would tell me that it's excessive.

Good point....I never thought about it that way.

He actually said,"do you think I should cut down?" It was kind of said in a joking manner.

Are you concerned about tossing back a bottle of scotch (or three? or ten?) a week? Don't worry, we have many medical professionals here at Dave's ready to give you the free advice you need. For instance:

MED PRO 1: "Your liver will turn black and you will look like shit because your eyes will turn yellow. You will soon die."

MED PRO 2: "Aw, that ain't nothing. I do much worse to myself and I feel great."

It's always good to get at least two opinions. The beauty of Dave's is that you'll probably get a hell of a lot more than just two MED PRO viewpoints.

(Disclaimer: Dave Sperling does not endorse the opinions of the MED PRO staff)

If you drink excessively, make sure you drink 3 litres of water a day then you'll be able to keep up that excess a whole lot longer than normal.
