We'll be looking at going in to sub zero dawn temps after about two weeks in Seoul. Early Dec and we'll have day temps of about 2.
Mid Dec and into Christmas it will be 0/-2 during day. Then will go down to -2/-4 in early Jan.
Average day temp will drop to between -4/-8 in Jan/Feb. Dawn temps wont seem any colder than day temps during winter, the thick of which is mid Jan to late Feb.

The winter temps don't really stay the same. Last year was mild with three days runs of low temps about -8. I think that was about the lowest temp last winter. But years previously have seen on TV before heading to work was -19.5 in Seoul. That same year (maybe 2001) as well as several before, there were two three-day patches of lows of -12 during each of the three days.
Days when the wind blows will be noticeably colder.

Last year and 2006 also were quite mild. Something about the double Spring. So a bit of a milder winter.

Maybe this year it is going to be a bit colder ... a couple of three day runs of -10 one in late Jan the other in Feb.

Anyway, regardless of mild or not, temps warm up from early-mid March coming out of negative day temps. And switch to positive dawn temperatures late March. Early April shows the signs of Spring warmth.

I'm on Jeju and it's just starting to cool down. Today is about 55 degrees fahrenheit. Tonight it will get down to about 44 degrees F.

The locals and other foreigners who have lived here for a while tell me that it rarely ever drops below freezing unless you live inland (higher altitudes). Only the top of Halla mountain receives significant snowfall.

So, I guess it just depends where you live.

Something about Spring having begun far earlier and another spring latches into part of the next year so during the one cycle, or one lunar year you have two warming periods instead of one. Something like that ..

Tonight is supposed to be a cold one. We're already at 4.5 celsius in Seoul now.
