So my cruddy hagwon director has basically told us that she doesn't have much in the way of money and won't pay us overtime (she tries to shirk paying us on time too, but I'm not having any of that.) Anyways, she keeps attempting to have us come in early for on some days for field trips and stay late for staff meetings. This happens maybe 3 or 4 times a month. I have stated that we are supposed to get paid for this kind of thing according to our contract but she doesn't care. Therefore, I basically don't stay for meetings ever. Back home, I wouldn't mind putting in a bit of extra time if the manager asked nicely or respected us, but I don't get that at all here. Should I continue not going to the after school staff meetings. Seems the Korean teachers don't care and do whatever she says, even though they haven't even been paid yet. It isn't that much time, perhaps 2 to 3 hours a month, but with the way she treats us, I don't see the point. |

I would be more concerned about late payment and non payment of Korean workers than unpaid overtime.

Well, I have less than three months to go. She has paid the severance of the foreign teachers up to now, and I'm just hoping that keeps up. I just don't care to be there more than I have to anymore. |
