Going to Cebu in December. Would I come out better changing won to dollars here in Korea and then changing it into pesos there (Phils) or
would it be better to just change won directly into pesos here in Korea (or in the Phils)?

Yes, won into dollars, and dollars into pesos is the way I do it.
Finding a place that exchanges Won into Pesos (in the Philippines) is possible, but a real challenge at a bad exchange rate. |

Do NOT take won to the Philippines.
Buy dollars here and exchange to pisos there.
Oh, and pick up about 5000-10,000 pisos at the Incheon airport BEFORE you go. Get the smallest bills you can. 1000's are too big to cash anywhere except the major hotels and shopping malls. 500's are better and get some 100's if you can. |
