I live near Busan and flights go from here to Manilla but not from here to Cebu. If I want Cebu I need to hike up to Incheon.

It will be my first time in Phillipines and I want to go to a beach with some night life. Can I fly into Manilla and find some good places or should I fly into Cebu.

How much is a domestic return flight once I am there?

Domestic flights are cheap (think US$25-50) each way.

IF you are looking for a beach with some nightlife AND it is your first time in the RP, go to Manila and catch a flight to CATICLAN and do Boracay.

Don't Take a flight to Kalibo unless you fancy a very overcrowded, 2 hour ride in a V-hire (12 passenger van with 18 people in it).

PACK LIGHT.

There is LOTS of great info on here about Boracay. Just do a simple search for "boracay" and limit the search to the travel forum.

There is lots of good stuff on-line as well. http://www.boracay.com will give you some idea of places and prices. Since it is your first time, go mid-range rather than budget/backpacker. You'll be glad you did.

Book your 1st night and then walk along the beach to find something different if you want to change. There is lots to choose from in all price ranges.

The cheapest digs are down by boat station 1 and the newer places up by D'mall between boat station 2 and 3.

.

Yes, pack light. You can buy clothes cheap in PI. You should have no problem finding a resort. I was there a few weeks ago and reservations for November were very low according the the resort manager. Maybe due to the world financial crisis. Here is a place you might like to check out for a night: http://www.orchidsboracay.com/index.htm

So boracay is a better option than Cebu? I have about 28 days.

The beaches close to Cebu city just plain suck. There are some decent beaches out in the province but that will preclude any nightlife.

If you want to be somewhere with more options than Boracay, and with 28 days... you can do a combo and get a flavor for the Visayas region.

Start at Boracay.
Work you way across Panay when you get tired of the white sand and discos on Boracay.
Catch a ferry from Iloilo over to Bacolod.
Work your way down the island to Dumagete and catch a ferry over to Cebu.
Spend a couple days in the Jewel of the south and catch a ferry over to Bohol.
Spend a couple days on Alona beach.
Catch a ferry or pumpboat down to Siquijor. Spend a day or two with the witches.
Catch another ferry over to Mindanao and either work your way down to Davao or up to Cagayan de Oro and then over to Camiguin.
Catch a ferry (via CDO) or flight back to Cebu. Catch another flight back to Manila and your flight home.

You will get nightlife, sun, sand, beaches and a good cross section of real Pinoy culture (rather than just the touts with their hands out).

Just my humble opinion and piso worth of free advice.
If you get to Bohol, give me a shout and we can have a San Mig.

PS... ferries are EXPENSIVE Wink . It will cost between $2 and $20 for a ferry from anywhere to anywhere in the Philippines.

I spent 6 days in Boracay and it got boring. I dont think I could spend 20 days there. Take Ttompatz advice and plan out some other places to visit. Not sure what kind of budget you are working with. If you do make it to Davao, let me know.
