The problem of the American automobile industry is simply management, not the quality of American autos. American autos are reliable and affordable, but not always economical. My cousin just bought a 2008 black GMC Yukon. It's a sick vehicle, but way to big for her family. Nevertheless, there's not a Korean car I've seen that could compare, nor many Europeans. Those things would destroy the Korean market if allowed in Korea and the Koreans know it.
Imagine a Korean man in a 4 door Dodge Ram 4x4 or a GMC Yukon. I don't think he'd be as proud of his chairman after that experience.
