My mexican and thai food just isn't the same without it.
I want to grow it on my veranda

I grow my own basil, but can't find cilantro (coriander) seeds anywhere.

Hook a brother up! I have sweet basil seeds to trade...or happy to send some cash....in Daegu.

Cheers,

It is grown in Korea, but not very much. The Korean word for cilantro/coriander is 고수, so I assume cliantro or coriander seeds would be 고수씨. I have seen it sold in Emart - grown and packaged in Korea just like other herbs and veggies. If you hunt around the appropriate shops in Daegu and ask you might be able to find it.

Thanks for the translation!!!
That's a big help!

I usually refer to the seed as coriander and the herb as cilantro.

Now if anyone can help me track down some Siam Queen or Reuben basil I can take my curry to a new level.

Cheers,

I brought back a bunch of cilantro packs from Iowa last summer.
We're going to plant it next spring, but if you want to go for it now, I'll go ahead and mail you one. They were only a dollar or so at Walmart, so forget about money. Just tell me where you live.

Thanks for the heads up, Golem

They have ground coriander at Costco, but I'm looking for full seeds so I can grow fresh.

And I got some...Hapki Rocks!

Razz

fajitas with seasoned beef, onion, peppers, mango, fresh salsa, cilantro, lime juice and homemade sour cream

I will also need tequila...

yeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Very Happy

I was going to plant a garden but it was too much work.

I've got seeds of all kinds. PM me if you're interested. You can have them all for 20 bucks including post.

oregano
parsley (2)
basil lemon
cilantro (2)
mint
"tomato collection" 5 disks each with a different kind of tomato

Tasty.

Sorry that I missed that the first time. My father in law grows herbs and I think he has some Coriander seeds. I'll check with him this weekend if you are interested.

There are several places in Seoul to get it:
Itaewon
1. The International Market in
2. The supermarket that is under the building Geckos is in ( name??)
3. Sometimes the ladies at Vegie hill have it.
4. Namdae Mun there are some vegie vendors in the South-west corner that usually have it and you get a big bunch for 2,000 won.

Cilantro can be frozen and still retain most of it's flavor, but don't buy the dry stuff, all the flavor is gone.

Step 1: Familiarize yourself with Gmarket (online shopping & they have a website in English).

Step 2: Search "고수씨앗" (Coriander Seeds)

Step 3: Make your purchase and wait a few days.

Step 4: Do a happy dance!!

Gmarket is a life saver, especially for foreigners living in Korea (and not in Seoul--> I live in Daegu and love it!) because it can be so so so difficult to find out information about where to buy certain products.

I'm a pretty smart gal and I'm good at doing research but it consistently irritates when I go searching for information and the only thing I'm able to find is information about Seoul. I have a lot of Korean friends and my boyfriend is Korean, but sometimes, unless they know about what I'm looking for, they can't even help me...soooooo, I turn to Gmarket.

Best of luck to you all!!

This is a 4 year old dead post. Why even respond something that old?
