We've all seen the weird white dudes with the hot Korean girlfriends. And we've all seen the normal white dudes with the hot Korean girlfriends. What I rarely see is a white girl with ANY boyfriend. I'm just curious. Do all expats males in Korea have "yellow fever" or are there any guys who still prefer the pasty (er, alabaster) glow of a white girl?

Disclaimer: I, in no way, BLAME you for liking Korean girls. I think we can all agree they got it going on. I was just wondering.

I have seen plenty of guys with white girlfriends. In some cases, they came with these girls and in some cases they met them here. Plenty of guys do want to go out with Korean women. That's natural. I, for one, prefer dating white women whether they're from Europe, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, or North America. That's my preference. I asked one Canadian guy I met recently if his girlfriend was Korean, and he said no, and that he wouldn't date a Korean woman again. So, it depends. Some love Korean girls and some don't. It's a mixed bag!!!! Don't just go with that notion that all the Western guys are of one mind. I don't think a Western guy would turn down an attractive Western woman.

There are like 25 million korean girls in this country...and just a few thousand white western women...

Within that number, there are only a certain number of attractive ones..The attractive white women in Korea will not date the weird white guys or the normal white dudes in korea...they will date the hot white dudes or the hot korean girls..

So even if those weird white guys LOVE white girls, they will have to settle for anything they can get...and seeing as we are in korea, thats usually ugly korean girls Embarassed

but i think most white dudes here develop yellow fever after having been in korea a while...

Most guys just get by back home, and in Korea all they have to do is be white and it's *beep* galore. So, what do you think they will go for?

I have extreme yellow fever, completely uncontrollable and I really don't know why.

My thinking is while in Rome, do the Romans....take it a step beyond just do as the Romans. It's all a part of the experience. I suppose I might catch flack for that, but it's the truth. Having a relatione ship with a local girl has been the greatest part of being here and i'm currently loving the idea of a mixed little family with little mixed kids.

I have nothing against the foreign ladies, I have dated many of them, but while in the land of the Han they have less appeal (although there are some real gems out there......).

As for why foreign girls don't seem to have boyfriends here often....I have asked myself this question often. I don't know.

Some of the women don't want boyfriends. They know they're only here for a year. Some of the girls do. Some of the Western women have Korean boyfriends, some have Western boyfriends, and some aren't dating at all. It's the same with the guys, but more of the guys are probably dating than the women. That's the difference. I think people who have been here for quite a while and have known all kinds of Westerners would probably say that's generally true. In my neighborhood I've seen plenty of Western women with their Canadian or American boyfriends.

A decent looking Western girl can get a boyfriend if she wants. She shouldn't assume a Wesern guy wouldn't want her. I know and have known people who married Western women while living in Korea, so the answer is no, not all Western males are crazy about Korean females.
I prefer to be able to have a conversation with a woman I am dating.

I'm guessing the gals aren't all that into entitelment mentality, knuckle dragging soju swilling kimchee+garlic breath neanderthals who like to hit it at the salons, anma places and the super friendly norebang girl next door types when not hitting their girlfriends, if you know what I mean.Of course, that is only .9% of the adult South korean male population, so let's chalk it up to Western female feminist racism!

No.

My "yellow fever" has run its course.

I'll now drive any attractive car that runs well. I ditched my Hyundai and hope to upgrade to a Volvo or BMW, but if I find a good deal on a Ford Focus I would certainly drive that for a while.

Quite frankly, it's a turkey shoot.

Finding something better than the average turkey takes time and cultural savvy. Even then, it can still be difficult.

Next thread, please.

I'm half korean/ half white and I've only dated white women. I don't know why, but I'm not attracted to korean girls, let alone asian girls. It's not so much a physical issue as it is a cultural issue. Perhaps (and i'm generalizing here) it's simply the different way of thinking, east and west. Values and expectations are different. I simply don't see many korean girls as being free spirited, independent, and individual critical thinkers...this is just from my experience....they're very...conformist?? Dare I say.
One thing that irks me in particular is the behavior and courtship practices of many koreans. It seems very immature to me, the playful hitting and whining...it's just not my style. More importantly is the language barrier. My Korean has seen better days and for me to be in a relationship, language and the ability to fully express oneself and have intelligent conversations is extremely important.

Never say never though.

I'm also open to lambasting comments that tell me otherwise.

Best women in my opinion,
German women, (at least those who have attended University. They seem to be very cultured, fun, and open minded.)

I'm half & half too.
I love white girls.
More because of the physical stuff than the cultural stuff that you mentioned.
Though I must admit, I've seen some REALLY attractive K-girls that I hadn't really seen the likes of back in the US.

When it all comes down to it though, it doesn't really matter. If we hit it off, we hit it off, regardless of ethnicity or whatever.

I have yet to see a hot girl that isn't Korean (I have rarely seen foreign women so far). If I see one, though, I'll def. have to try and speak to her. =P
