I'm going to take my school's laptop back to Canada with me when I go for vacation ("you break it, you bought it").

Anyway, can I swing by Radio Shack and pick up an AC Adapter? How does it work, is there a converter in the box? The AC Adapter I have now has an extension for a Korean plug--could I just swap this out with a Canadian one without paying for an entire adapter, or do I need the whole thing?

I'm not a laptop person, so I'm not sure of this.

Thanks.

Check the power brick for the laptop... if it indicates 110~240v, then you just need to change the prong cable or use an adaptor. Most laptops should be like this.

All modern laptops are dual voltage (110-240VAC 50/60Hz.)
You can confirm it by reading the label on the power brick.

You simply need to get a plug adapter or cord end.
