From the numerous posts about researching your postition/location/school before arriving in Korea I understand that there are lists of the negative places to work. I have found a few "blacklist" webpages.

However, I was wondering if there is a list of the good places to work or directors/school districts that have fair working conditions. Maybe places that at least honour the contracts somewhat...

The good ones seem to get filled through word of mouth...keeping in the 'family' kind of thing so I really don't think there's a list somewhere. I haven't seen it.

Dont rely on blacklists telling full truth.

Many hagwon blacklists are out of date quickly, and many listings have been malicious or done as revenge, or do not give the director's or other teacher's side of story. Also many hagwons change their names every couple of years (for various reasons). This means a hagwon can be good one year and bad another, and you may not detect a hagwon that changed names or moved to another franchise.

My Apologies Atramendous!

I put this in the wrong thread (still useful info. if you are doing research Smile)

About your question. NO. I don't know of any. But do you think this would be a valuable thing for job sites to offer? A way for teachers to rate the jobs and / or create a directory of info. on employers?

I'd also like to see a job site where you can search like the Web presently allows you. Search for jobs based on $$salary$$ , search based on student body, $$ search based on whether they are gold, silver or scraping the barrel employers..... Maybe even other criteria like accomodation and hours.... Do you think this would be a winner?

Lots more could be done.
