I recently shipped a 15kg box by surface (boat) to the USA for 40,000 won. It will take 4-6 weeks to get there, but the post office says 8-12 weeks. If I would've shipped it by air, it would take maybe 2 weeks and cost 3 times as much to send. |

Post Office
Every package I have ever air mailed has gotten to the States is less than two weeks.
Surface mail usually get there in 4 or 5 weeks.
Just don't send it EMS. It is expensive. I once made the mistake of sending a package by EMS. It cost 50.000 won but was there in three days. |

I just sent a laptop, power supply and DVD of my baby son to my dad in the UK by EMS post. It cost 52,000 won and arrived at his door 2 days later (and was mailed from the boonies at lunchtime).
Same parcel by surface was quoted at 35,000 won, 8-12 weeks delivery.
Post Office every time for me...

I send a BIG box of gifts every year, and it has never taken more than 7-8 working days (Western working days, that is...M-F) and it has never cost more than 50,000. That's cheap to ALASKA. BTW, the mail goes to Seattle first, and then Alaska, so no funny stuff about Alaska being close to Korea.
Air mail is the goody-goody-gum-drops this time of year. |

Why is it shipping from here doesn't seem that expensive, but shipping to here, especially from the US, is massively expensive? If people are sending by ship to the US, what service do you use to send TO Korea? I can't even send my computer from home because they say it's too big. It's an HP, which means it's pretty damn small for a computer. |

USPS got rid of international surface mail, so air is your only option.
Fuck you, USPS. |
