So some variation on this has probably been posted a million times, but here's a million and one.

I've been in Incheon for about two months now and was wondering, uh, where are the good/fun places to go? I've been to one ex-pat bar, Goose Goose, it was okay.

But some friendly place in the town would help me keep my sanity during the week.

Also, has anyone ever gotten a sunday morning announcement in their apartment? I did. At eight in the morning. Big Brother is listening. Apparently my water is being shut off from 9-5 on monday. What would happen if you slept through that or were out?

I heard there's a smoking area in front of a McDonald's at Incheon Bus Terminal Station that's usually a swinging good time. There's even a man who lays on his stomach in the middle of a traffic island blasting static-filled Korean songs through an ancient boombox for entertainment.

What's a McDonald's?

What do you think of korean women?

Have you heard of kimchi?

Kimchi and I have actually been intimate for about a month and a half now.

And I think Korean women should stop trying to hold my hand in public.

It's Korean style. You're just being intolerant of other cultures. Bigot.

ahem

Do you wistfully daydream about kimchi like most of my co-teachers do? Staring longingly out the window...

Oh...

kimchi...

If you are in or near Mansu dong, there's a bus to Hongdae/Shinchon that takes about 40 minutes. Or else the subway might work. Bucheon isn't so bad. I'm speaking from old memories I'd prefer to forget.

Prefer to forget?

Hah

Thanks. I've been to Hongdae once before. Anything I should be on the lookout for whilst there?

Hey Mike,

It's just that I thought Incheon was crap, back in 2005. I made the trip to Seoul or even into Bucheon, a lot, while there in Mansu dong. Mainly it was just to go out and feel sort of normal, and have a good time. I disliked Incheon a lot, a personal thing perhaps. I know many concur, but hey, for many others the place is fine I guess.

ROCK BAR-it's on the same side of the street, going, I believe, West. A bright red neon sign but a lot of the letters are burned out.

Guwol-dong.... behind Shinsegae (near Incheon Arts Center subway stop) is okay on the weekends.

Yeonsu-dong--> a 5 minute walk from Dongchun station or 10 min fr., Wonninjae has a western bar; US 66. There's also a bar called MadMax that is ok.... and a nice coffee shop where a lot of foreigners go called Whoever.

I don't think there's any other semi-foreign friendly places to go except Bupyoung, Bucheon and Seoul.

No. I think Incheon is still crap, but I haven't been here too long so maybe I'm judging it prematurely.

Nah. I'm pretty sure it's still crap here.

I actually live pretty close to Mad Max, and every time I see it I think about the movies.

Whoever? I could use a good coffee shop. I've been hiding in starbucks for some decent coffee and feel dirty.

Some levity might be nice.

One day I'll go back to Wolmido.

it kind of reminds me of Coney Island in a twisted way
