Hey Folks,

So I am an English teacher currently on my 7th month in South Korea teaching with an E2 visa. Life is good and I am thinking I am likely going to spend one more year in Korea.

Firstly as some of you know, new rules and document requirements came into the process of getting an E2 visa about 8 months ago. These were to show a criminal record (Under 1 year old I think, which required an anal 'apostal' stamp!), sealed transcripts and the original diploma from your University, and various other things like the signed contract and a blood test upon arrival in Korea.

So simply put, will I need all of this again if I leave the country and come back in on another E2 contract?

Truth is, I am coming back on a tourist visa and will be looking for work while I live in Korea with my girlfriend. This way I will need to either acquire an E2 while I am in Korea, which may mean I need to fly to Japan or something?

So I guess I am trying to ask if I will need all those forms, tests again upon getting another job in Korea even if I come in on my own?

If I return to England and decide to spend the time and get all those same documents again by hand, could I bring them all to Korea with me and just hand them over when I find a new job? Would anyone reccomend that?

I apologize in advance if I repeat myself or ask confusing questions, I am currently on a break in my school and writing this as fast as I can.

I am sure there may already be information I am looking for on the forums and I could sit for hours and delve through to find the answers to my questions. But after looking for a while I decided I could not find any decent answers.

Any information or experience with this matter AT ALL will help me a lot so please let me know, or guide me to a post/thread, that might have answers.

Thanks for your time

YES!

I don't want you to think that I am mocking you, but I am going through the same process at the moment (except I want a job lined up when I land) Should you land first before getting a job, you still must goto Japan for your visa.

Good Luck
