Anyone know a ski resort town in Korea with a cheap korean style yeokwon or minbak (cant type hangul on this pc) for about 40k? I can go mid-weak.

I subrented out my apartment for winter bread, but I have to be out of my place a few days earlier then my actual fight out of Korea. Maybe I will go up and spend a couple of days at a ski resort. I actually have a board already, so don't need to rent, although I have never taken it out in Korea.
Anyone know a ski resort with a town attached that might have a regular Korean style Yeokwon, or even a Korean style love motel? It would be nice if the ski place can be reached by train or bus.
thanks, much

Maybe Gangchon or Cheongju - around there might have what you need.

Just want to bump this once.
Any idea for skiing with town with cheap accomidation nearby?
That Gangchon Resort at Gangchon city looks good. What is the ski area near Cheongju ? Maybe a spelling difference but I see that city a bit NE of Daejon and can't find skiing nearby.

Thanks

The small town of Hoenggye near the resort of Yongpyeong..You might have to do do some haggling, but there are heaps of ski rental places in town that also offer minbak accom. They also sell discounted lift tickets for the following day and will give you a lift to the hill.

I'd only go if there is some serious natural snow...YP can be icy otherwise.

I stayed at Pointski but there are lots of places like it, i think.

Alot of the resorts have Hostels. Search through www.tour2korea.com
Muju was cool but I don't think there is any snow there now. Vivaldi had only 2 runs operating 2 weeks ago and hasn't really been cold since then. but their hostel was full up anyway.
