| I really want to go somewhere (anywhere but Korea) during winter vacation, but I can only afford W500,000 for the plane ticket. Anybody have any suggestions? |

| Take a boat somewhere instead. Check out the slow boat to China thread. Maybe you can take a boat to Russia too or else a boat to China, then bus to Russia. I saw it on TV. Looked interesting and cheap. |

Getting a visa is a PITA. Not worth the added expensive and hassle to go and freeze. Try Taiwan or Hong Kong. |

The ferry to Russia is cheap.
But once you get there, accommodation in Vladivostok is limited and expensive (no hostels, only full service hotels at western prices). |
