Richmond, Va to New York City is $59. Its cheaper than driving there (gas, tolls, food stops).

Buy your return ticket before you come over. Always go home after a year, you deserve it and need it. Put in another destination part way through the year which you can adjust once you know when your holiday will be. Singapore Air is good for this.

Koreans travel on package tours as most of you know. Most people have the same holiday period and very limited holidays. Large companies thus buy out large portions of available seats on most flights. This leaves little for travel agents to sell. They sell the ticket at an inflated rate in order to make money.
This is also why - even when buying a ticket well in advance - they often will not give you a price. I have never had this experience anywhere else. On a peninsula there are so few options. Oddly, it is easy to get out of Seoul, but try getting a ticket in with short notice during the peak season. Most places this is possible. Not Seoul.

I am assuming you are being sarcastic because I might have written this in exactly the same way...... Very Happy

Yesterday I went to Xanadu Travel in the KEB Bldg in Itaewon to book a ticket. A round trip ticket from Incheon Int'l Airport to Phucket Airport, including taxes and fuel surcharge, is one million won Shocked

Top Travel, which Harpeau recommended, doesn't seem to be much cheaper. Crying or Very sad
