Yes, that was precisely the problem I had with the place behind the Hamilton hotel. Dropped significant cash for zero results.

Come on guys and gals...there must be a decent enough place around iteawon. It's getting to be that season. Lets hear from you.

I've been having good experiences from the sun. I've been doing interval sprints around the soccer field at a nearby university twice a week in shorts and no shirt at around noon, when the sun is brightest.

We've got a small group that run together on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If anyone is interested in a good workout for getting lean in a competitive environment, all while getting a little color, PM me.

That would have been great earlier in the year. Not going running shirtless all winter though. I have a great rooftop for tanning, but the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder.

Honestly, you build up a sweat even when it's chilly.

Tried Jenny's in Noksapeong. Two sessions and zero tan. They only allow for 20 minute intervals. If you stay in longer they count it as more than one session. The first time I went was for 15 min. Got nothing, so next time I doubled it. The lady thought I was crazy. Well, still nothing. So I'm gonna try to get my money back. I don't recommend it.

Anyone have any recommendations to any other places in Seoul? Directions to the place in Gunja?

I read that some hotels, like the Ritz, have tanning facilites. I wonder if you have to be a guest to use their facilities.

I'm don't know about tanning but I do know that Jenny's Cellular admitted to selling me a bad phone and wouldn't take responsibility for it.
I wouldn't trust a person who can't properly handle cell phone technology and service with a technology involving my skin. Besides, it seems a little risky to walk into a cell phone shop and expect a safe and quality tan.
Or maybe I'm just pissed about the phone.

I've read all the posts and keep hearing this wonderful place called Magic Tan (which someone said has both regular and spray on beds). Where is this place? And if you have some sort of directions to get there that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I checked into 2 tanning salons in Shinchon and they wanted a small fortune. People I know who went there said the bulbs were never changed and it was a waste of money. I then realized that it was cheaper to go to Cheju and get a tan there.

The Green Turtle in Itaewon has tanning booths (above Coffee Bean), and I was informed yesterday that they changed the bulbs the day before.

haha, if u cant find a tanning bed or booth in seoul ur not looking hard enough.

come on people, they're everywhere. go to apgujung (where i go) and u cant take two steps without running into another. despite all the talk of "white skin is best" from the locals, apparently that only counts on the face.

i will NOT be telling u about the place i go to though, cause im the only waegook and they treat me like a king there, and i dont want to share that with anyone, sorry.

but do a naver search of just walk around apgujung, u'll find several. good hot bulbs, high quality beds and booths, and good lotion so it wont burn.

ive never been to a place that doesnt accept males or anything like that. damn, sometimes people get on here and run their mouth about stuff they have no idea what theyre talking about.

tanning is here and its everywhere. dont waste ur time and money in itaewon

Has anyone seen a tanning salon in Anyang?

Tonight i went into a place that said "suntan" (선텐) and it was a little sketchy. just one adjumma with lots of makeup working there, and i got the sense that it could be handjob parlor where she rubs spray-on tan oil on your body. the price was 140,000 for 30 minutes.

so I did a naver search for "anyang suntan" (선텐 and 선탠), and had my GF call one of the places. She was told the price is 130,000 won for 1 session. I am mystified as to why this is. Even for spray-on tanning, that is far too much. if it's not a handjob, i don't know what it is.

all i want is a place where i can buy something like 5 or 10 sessions or 50-100 minutes or even just pay around 10,000 for individual 10 minute sessions before I go to Thailand. I'm going to cook like a lobster if i don't.

the only thing i have to go on is a former co-worker who went somewhere near baskin robbins near anyang station and Il Ban Ga. i have yet to be able to find it. a few pages back, there is a post from 2007 that mentions something near Sanbon station.

anyone? i saw posts for places in itaewon and gangnam where there are tanning rooms in nail salons, beauty parlors, and even a cell phone shop. what's the Konglish i can look for on the signs for UV tanning if it's not "suntan"?
