I found this cutie outside my apartment building. He'd been running around for about a month, so when the weather really began getting cold I took him in. I've had him vet checked and neutered so he's ready for a forever home. I'm not asking for any compensation for expenses, just a good home.

He gets along well with other dogs and is really a big teddy bear. He loves to cuddle and hug, and he's soft as anything. A home with other pets might actually be a good thing because he really likes to seek comfort from my dog whenever he's in trouble for something or he just wants somebody to sit beside. (My dog hates this Very Happy, bit of a loner - my mutt.)

He will need an experienced owner and lots of love. He did whine at first whenever I left him at home, but he's stopped this now that he's used to my routine, otherwise I've never heard him bark. Overall, he's adapted well to being an indoor dog.

I have him paper trained and find him quick to learn (I've taught him sit and paw) but he's a bit of a aqua-holic (probably because water was a scarce resource as a stray), he drinks all the water you give him immediately, no matter how much you give him, so water rationing is required, at least for now.

His house breaking is coming along well, he tries to hold it until you get home but knows to go on the paper if he can't. House breaking him completely will take some time, consistency, and patience.

The vet says he's about a year and a half old.

pm me if your serious about offering Rosco a forever home.

House breaking update: He hasn't needed to use the paper all weekend. Doesn't anyone want to give this little guy a home?

I would be interested in fostering Rosco if nothing else better happens for him. I would adopt but I don't know exactly what's happening in summer '09 when my contract is over. I would definitely give him a good home however you should know that I'm gone M-F from 8:30 - 5:00 and so I'm not sure if that time alone will be too stressful for him. Perhaps you would know. He would certainly have most of my attention when I arrive in the late afternoon. Let me know either way. BTW can't send PMs but I can receive. Otherwise contact me at [email protected]. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer. I'll keep you in mind for sure, but right now it's probably best to just keep looking for a forever home for him. It reduces the stress on the dog. I've found him very quick to get attached, so leaving me will probably cause him some initial problems until he reattaches to his new owner. Going through this too often might damage his temperment.

Rosco still needs a home if anyone's interested. His training continues to move along and he's learned to walk on a leash very well.

The water thing seems to have stopped too. He's willing to leave water in the dish now.

Let me know if your interested.
