Hi everybody,

Just arrived in Ilsan and looking for a good way to learn Korean, any advice appreciated (real course, books, internet websites, ...)
Also looking for nice places, restaurants, bars and to meet people.
To quickly present myself I'm a 24 years old Belgian (french speaker) engineer working for proton therapy research against cancer.
Also looking to do some trips as well in Korea than close others countries.
Don't hesitate to contact me (lucerne8 AT gmail DOT com)

Thanks for your help!
Simon

Does anyone have any idea for Korean lessons (in Ilsan) ?
Is there any expat/tourist office where I can get some info like maps, one day visit, etc ?
Thanks for you help!

you can get an English map from KINTEX

there a couple of options for Korean lessons: the Kwangsung church offers lessons for really cheap

there is also a group that just started meeting on Sunday evenings at Western Dom

both are on Facebook

restaurants and bars to meet people: you might want to try La Festa: Rosenbrau, Frog & Toad and Bar Boom

Generally, there aren't Korean lessons in Ilsan. I didn't hear about this group that meets at Westerndom. At any rate, I wouldn't be able to meet with them since I teach at night. I am probably going to have to teach myself some Korean. However, books for teaching Korean are usually rather bad. I kind of wished I lived in Seoul, because there are more resources for those wanting to learn Korean.
