I am a little short on winter clothes this year and live way down on the southern coast....so I'd like to know if it is worth my while to trek all the way to Seoul for clothes shopping in Itaewon?

I know that there are plenty of t-shirts, dress shirts, light button-up polyester short-sleeved shirts, etc....but I have never been to Itaewon in the winter and don't recall seeing sweaters and the like.

Basically I am looking to pick up 2-3 heavy sweaters, I have sweatshirts but I need something just a little bit nicer to wear to work.

I would be willing to buy used clothes off someone who is going home and has decent clothes they don't want to take with them...assuming that the price matched the price of used clothing.

I am looking for "big" as in tall and big, 6'6" 235lb.......not 5'10 250lb.

If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated.

Cheers

Costco or Itaewon. Just check out those oversized hip hop looking stores.

I like the selection at Big Brother. It's an upstairs
shop now (they moved recently) just a few doors
to the right of Outback Steakhouse in Itaewon.
They have every item you mentioned.

You might consider ordering online from Amazon
or from Ebay or Land's End. Check the vendors
who'll ship internationally and, depending on how
far you live from Seoul, you might save the cost of
a train or bus ticket (even if you order fast shipping).

Of course, there's always Super KMart in Guam. Like
you needed an excuse for a tropical getaway!

Cool, thanks.

I am not sure that I am in the market for a plane ticket at the moment, but that's good to know about shopping in Guam.

Dirk,

That's a sweet idea...it may be, however, that along with the diet I would have to have quite a few inches surgically removed from my arms and legs.

If you're going to post smart-ass remarks at least make them well thought out, clever, and logical.

This forum does attract some real beauties.

Shame on you Dirk.... your comment was not beneficial to anyone. Mean spiritedness is not welcomed anywhere. How would you feel if someone responded to you in such a negative fashion? Hummmm, just wondering. The world needs less smart assess and more people with heart and compassion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP, the stuff in Itaewon for bigger guys is kinda crappy. Any chance you could have someone mail it to you? Or maybe have a Korean friend order from a website for you.

Wylies....that is what I remember from before and hence why I asked before making the journey to Seoul. But I last lived here in 2004 and haven't been back to Itaewon since and so I didn't know if anything I bought would still have Tu Pac embossed on the front or not.

Of course I could order stuff online and have it shipped, I just wanted to know if the offerings in Itaewon had improved or if it was the same old stuff.
