Greetings forum.

Im looking for someone to hit the gym with. If you have an opening at your school or academy (or know of one in the area) and are also looking to work out, let's talk and see if we can set this up.

I'm 6'2'' and about 285 lbs. (187cm/130kg metric) with a lineman's build and am looking to drop about 50 lbs. by summer. Looking to do alot of cardio and also free weight training. If you're in the same boat, this could be a good opportunity.

2 yrs. exp. in Korea at academies, so I know my way around.

Will consider any school, but prefer no kindergarten. Split shift ok for the right price. Ideally want to get to the gym during non-peak times.

I'm in the States now, but am on my way in a couple weeks. Would ask the school to reimburse the ticket price ($500) and then do a visa run OR I will wait here in LA to process the visa if they buy me a ticket direct. (Need 2 wks. to get a replacement for the CBC that I got in March- now expired)

Thanks to all.

Reminds me of these two french guys who moved to lake Louise because they got free rent and food so they could train. Friday nights they struted on the dance floor and flexed and *beep* like that.

Never actually saw they pic up any women but they sure tried. They probably eventually gave up and dated each other.

...just a fat guy looking to lose some weight, is all. I find I get lazy if I do it on my own.

Thanks for these and any future words of encouragement!

You can come to Jeju and work out with me. But, I'm trying to go the other direction with my weight. I weigh 140lbs and am trying to gain 10 or 15lbs in a few months. I do very little cardio. Only strength training (stronglifts.com).
I work at a public school, so there are no openings. But, I hear there are plenty of hagwon jobs on the island. Just don't get stuck in the few crappy ones.

Dude, I work out six days a week and used to have your proportions. Now i am around 205lbs and have a wide reciever's build. It took a lot of time, but anyways, you have to come to Korea with the attitude of being a teacher first, not a bodybuilder. There is no market for bodybuilding, football, boxing, or any other kind of athletics here. Teaching is the reason to come here, nothing else.

That is wonderful. Im sure when you get to your new Hakwon and those little rascal 5th graders are making fun of you, you will have no problem throwing them out the window.

Seriously, was this an ad for "job wanted" or "workout partner wanted" or "available, someone to beat the crapp out of your misbehaving students"?

Well, at least you have mercy on the kindergarteners.
