|
|
Problem one:
Scanned my T-money card at a subway yesterday, it worked fine... Got off the subway, it worked fine... Got on a bus, it worked fine... Later in the day (after a bit of hiking) I went to get back on the subway and it didn't work... at all... No beep, no X, nadda, nothing... Asked the subway ticket guy to try and scan my card on his recharging machine and it was deader than a doornail... Which is a piss off because I had just thrown 10k on there...
Problem two:
Had to get home, so I bought another T-money card and put 10k on it... Scanned it on the subway, it worked fine... Same with getting off of the subway... Went to use it on the bus this morning and it keeps coming up with the red "X" as if there is no money on it... Had to toss a bill into the collection bucket... Which is a piss off because I know there is money on that card as well...
Called T-money, but their English speaker is on lunch... Regardless, anyone have this problem before? Easy/Not so easy solutions (preferably not having to buy another card) |

Not as far as I know...
Sat on some rocks on the top of the mountain, which might explain the 1st card, lol....
The second card spent the night sitting next to the first in my wallet next to my cellphone (charging) and my TV... Though I can't see how either of those would do it... |

Don't get the T-Money CARD. Get the cell phone accessory, or someting other than the card.
2nd. Go to a convenience store and get your money refunded. You have to fill out a little mailer, drop your card in, and write you bank account number. A few weeks later, you will get the refunded money back in your bank account. |

| I think that T-Money cards work via RFID, so magnets etc. won't affect them. You may just have been extraordinarily unlucky in that you damaged the first by sitting on a hard, uneven surface and the second was already worn out. |

same same!
my first t-money card just stopped working one day, and the dude in the subway station office couldn't make it work again. and that was after I'd just put about $20 onto it.
I've had my replacement card for about 3 days, and again it's starting to play up. I don't carry around any magnets, so I really cannot understand what it is. |

I bought a cell-phone T-card after work today... and then for a lark scanned my 2nd card on the bus to see if it would work... Lo and behold, it worked... Ahh well, something to give my gf when she comes I guess... Still no idea about my first card though... too weird...
Would it have anything to do with me no scanning it after getting off of a bus? Not 100% sure I did yesterday... |

| I've had the same one forever. I stopped using a card and got one of those that go on a keychain. |

The card ones suck. They always stop working, or you gotta scan them 4-5 times on the bus.
The cell phone accessory ones always work the first time, everytime. |

| I have the little black bean T-money phone accessory and it has a mind of its own. However, sometimes if I shake it, it will work or if I try scanning it on the opposite side it will work. |

| The card scanner needs to stop with the 2 second delay BS. Why wait until the messageis over for the thing to scan the card again. Stupid stupid idea. |

I have the diseased kidney one as well. It usually works fine except sometimes on the subway. I usually thwack it on the machine and it works fine.. |

You can get a cellphone accessory one...they have nice ones in almost every convenience store and they range from 3,000원 to 8,000원 (usually depending on how good they look).
Also a magnet shouldn't affect your T-Money card because it uses RFID technology... |
