not sure if this is the right forum, but looked close enough. i plan to travel home back to US for christmas, and i bought my brother a divx media player (basically an external hard drive with the ability to plug into tv and watch movies, photos, music) as a gift. naturally there are some movies on there that may have been downloaded via torrents etc. (not that i do that kind of thing) but my question here is what is the best route to bring in it in? should i put it in checked baggage? or carry on? my friends say the tsa or some boogey man will steal it if i check it, but i feel like carrying a box that says divx media player through customs or whatever that if they have reservations about pirated movies they would be likely to take it from me. please help folks.

I`ve taken a portable external 1TB hard drive filled with goodies and never had a problem. I think it`ll be okay to carry on.
