Everynight at 7 pm it goes through my apartment complex ringing that stupid bell and wakes my baby up every single night. Is there anyway to complain about noise pollution?
I hate, hate, hate those trucks! grrrrrrr |

Most apts have rules about the trucks, but most guards are way too lazy to enforce them. In my old apt I found this approach worked:
1) Go down and ask them to turn off the speaker/turn it down as it is annoying and against the law and against apt rules. Usually this would break into an argument.
2)Next time they come yell at them from your window and throw eggs, rotten fruit, etc at the truck. Repeat this for a week or two and the truck will stop coming your way as cleaning off the bongo will not be worth it for the driver.
This is not a mature way to handle the situation, but it works. It seems being a complete asshole is the only way to get through to people here sometimes. |

7pm? You're lucky. I get it at 8am on Saturdays and Sundays. I've screamed obscenities out of my window, but unfortunately they don't understand. |

Well the bongo truck with rice snacks goes around everynight at 7pm but in the summer and spring we get the produce guys blaring their speakers at 8am too. |

I'm so lucky I don't have to listen to all that racket anymore. "Saaah ohhhhh, yongy dong blah blah blah!" at 7 each morning was the norm in my old digs. This egg bongo was my alarm clock to be ready for a 9 O'clock start. Then I had to listen to it on and off for another 2 hours as it winded its' way through the dong and then I'd walk by it on my way to work. It did the same thing each morning at the same time, 7 days a week.
Heck, I don't even have any of those food ads trash this year either. I'd collect a yellow pages phone book sized stack of that each month from my door last year.
Remember that guy who admitted on here about a year and half ago who went out and stole their megaphone by force and threw it away? And then it ended up on that Seoul police website.
I couldn't bring myself to throwing eggs, taking things from them, and getting confrontational, because that's just too uncivilized and might get you in trouble with an exit order. A better way would be to use someone that can translate to complain and talk to the guy. |

I'm pretty lucky too. I live on a quiet street and a really good neighborhood in Seoul near some good universities. I have never heard the bongo truck guy. I'm up at 4am and out the door on most weekdays, but it would still bother the hell out of me if I had to hear it. Especially on weekends. |
