Cheers all,
I need a new PC. My co worker builds them and this is what he has come up with for me. He built my last one and I have been very happy with it. So this is what he came up with.
Intel 8400 CPU
MSI P45 Neo 3-FR (P45) Mainboard
Samsung DDR2x2GB SDRAM
EAH3650 ASUS passive Video card
Epsilon 700 700 W PS
Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 HDD
All for under 1 mil
I'm not a big gamer so the video card is not that important.
I also found a 22" tri gem 1680x1050 monitor for 220,000W
Sounds like a good deal to me.
What do you think??????? |

What exactly are you using the rig for if you're not gaming? Anything truely computationally intensive? No need (realistically) for the e8400/P45 chipset combo, or 4 gigs of ram for that matter either (XP only recognizes 3 gigs anyways).
Two weeks ago, I built a rig for a friend... e7300/P31 chipset, 2x1 gig ram, 9500gt, 640gig hdd, Lg multi-optical drive, 400w psu, case for 500 000 and that was in Busan where components are more expensive than in Seoul. It runs World of Warcraft like butter (and all high settings except dynamic shadows) for him at 1920x1600 on his 26" monitor. |

If you don't care much about brand-name components then the best deals around are from the guys in Sun-in Plaza, Yongsan.
Pick one of their suggested spec machines and you'll get great value.
They range from 450,000 to 1,000,000.
Any 22'' monitor for less than 300,000 is a good deal.......but, again, it won't be a good brand-name.......and Trigem isn't......but acceptable if you don't require a high-level panel. |

I'm going to be using the PC mainly for photos. I need the speed and space for my large photo files.
As far as my friend making money off me, I am going with him to Youngsan this weekend to buy the parts. There is no reason for him to jack up prices.
I can get a 22 " With a Samsung or LG screen for about 240,000-250.000W. I prefer the Samsung screens.
Decisions decisions??????????? |

CPU - 250k
Mobo - 150k
RAM - 80k (2x 2GB)
Video Card - 80k
PSU - 120k
HDD - 1TB - 160k
Total - 740k
All average prices taken from danawa.co.kr - no screen.
Though, if youre not using this machine for gaming, tone down some of the specs. i.e the CPU, the RAM and probably the PSU as well. |

Thanks Kiwi,
That is what I was looking for. I know that it's a little cheaper off Danwa.
Those prices will give me some fire to throw at the Yonsan sharks.
Still open on which screen.
cheers |

Prices have been hedging up on parts due to the weak won. Four months ago that cpu was only 204,000. Anyhow, I'd go w/ that system...it's pretty solid, you can save 20,000 if u go w/ this PSU:

It's a good one I have one. I would still go w/ the 4g of ram. Probably could have done this for 100,000 cheaper about four months ago but still that price isn't bad for what ur getting, IMO. Don't forget you'll need a odd and case as well and I suggest you get a multi card reader as well since it sounds like cameras are involved. They're like 20,000. I imagine you can do it all w/ the 22' monitor for a little under 1.1 which ain't bad. I have a 22' topsync and it's solid and their prices are in ur range.

Good luck w/ the build! |

This is just wrong.
XP certainly recognizes more than 3GB of RAM if you have the 64-bit version instead of the 32-bit. |
