|
|
Hey everyone,
I arrived in Seoul not long ago and am wondering where or with whom I should set up the internet with. I have a laptop and have heard that the internet is available everywhere here. I need to get it in my apartment before I get cancer from those pc bangs.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks |

My home service is through the largest provider, Megapass. It is KT telephone/ADSL service and is more than just adequate for me, they have a couple different packages that are worth looking it.
You can look at www.megapass.net ... but it's in Korean.
You can look at KT's website at www.kt.co.kr and there is an English page in there somewhere
Basically if you want a solid, "higher" end ADSL package you will pay about 40,000 - 50,000 WON per month
There is of course cable internet available, but not very good in my opinion |

I had KT in Busan and have it in Jochiwon now. It may be better or worse in different cities, or even in different zones of cities.
You're a teacher-- ask the staff at the school, the other teachers, your students (maybe)-- get some opinions, and someone might even offer their help.
Don't let a provider try to give you a fancy laptop connection kit. You should need a LAN card and that's all.
