Spooks It is a british spy drama. its on the seventh season right now. It has about 10 episodes per season. It is really good. The writing on it is better than your average american drama.

the wire
deadwood
firefly
arrested development
curb your enthusiasm
breaking bad
the tudors
the sopranos
flight of the conchords
rome
six feet under
little britain
the mighty boosh
dexter
30 rock

these are all good, but for most of them, quality declines after the second or third season ( ie, six feet under / dexter). Also, some of these shows just end as they were cancelled before the stories were wraped up (eg., firefly).

however, they are all superior to watching something like "surprise."

The best thing about torrents is that you can personalize your tv experience.

I'm a big fan of 30 Rock, which stars Tina Fey (from SNL, writer of Mean Girls), Tracy Morgan (Also SNL) and Alec Baldwin. It's sticks its neck out a little more than you'd expect from a network sitcom.

I'm also watching Entourage, which is a "buddy flick" style show about some guys who have a childhood friend become the hottest actor in Hollywood. It's enjoyable, especially on days that I don't have brain cells to spare.

For pure comedy gold I would have to go with W.K.R.P

The Phone Cops! They're coming for me man! They play serious hardball friend! Wink

Seriously. It's hard to think of another show that has such a great bunch of characters, all unique it their own way, that play off of each other so amazingly.

That'd be "Summer Heights High."
Love that show.

Why has anyone not mentioned Full House?

I didn't watch it because it was too dark [that takes a lot] but I liked The Sopranos, but hated the postmodern ending to it.

It's Serenity! Firefly was a classic.

Battlestar Galactica's new episodes are coming out in January. There will be ten episodes and some will be two hours long.

There will also be two movies, one being three hours, the other being two.

I used to get people to tape programs and send them. One that really standed out was a gritty harsh prison drama called"OZ.
It was an HBO program it really got into the whole prag punk bitch culture of being the weak inmate who was always given the female persona.
It ran for about 5 or 6 seasons. It started really good but got a little contrived near the end. It's one riot episode was a direct rip off of the Attica(movie) incident.

Overall the programs strongest point was the storyline of an upper class lawyer. Who ends up in Oz after he kills a little girl during a drunken driving incident. He is one of those inmates who you think will never make it through the first season. He quickly finds himself bunked with a facist from the Aryan Brotherhood who immediately takes a romantic interest in him. The character of the Lawyer is quickly transformed by acts of vengence that are possibly the best TV I've ever seen. Which leads to a Vendetta that was addictive.

I'm pretty sure anyone who spent any serious time in the Big House would pick out all kinds of mistakes. However the program was still really good.
