I normally eat non-Korean food whenever I go to Itaewon but I have to go down there tonight and fancy some sort of Korean food. Maybe Galbi or something silimar. I have no idea about Korean restaurants in that part of town so what are your recommendations?
Also, what are your favorite Korean restaurants in the whole of Seoul? |

Itaewon is a bad place to go for Korean food because most of the places cater to foreigners, so a single order of galbi will be 20 000 won. If you want to find a good place but don't want to be ripped off, your best bet is in the alleys behind Gecko's. I found a nice place where you sit on the floor and the prices are just like anywhere else in Seoul. The old woman running it was surprised to see foreigners but she was very nice. |

yeah I didn't think it would be the best place, perhaps I'll just stick with one of the middle eastern places tonight. |

There's a place across from Gekkos called " Don Valley". It has some of the best" Wine Samgyup sal" I've ever had. There are also some good
Kam ja jang( Potatoe pork soup restaurants on the hill.
The Pajeong Makoli outdoor places on the hill are good too. |

Even Koreans don't go to Itaewon for Korean food, they go for American since they call this place, "little America," even though little about the place actually resembles America though it's one of the handful of places that sell things I want and need.
OP, I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a place that is plenty Korean being in Korea as everywhere else, but Itaewon is about Koreans going for Korean this and that. Korea outside of Itaewon is well, quite very Korean if you ask me. |
