I'm moving to Busan (specifically Hadan) in 2 weeks. Anyone live around there? What do you know about that area?
I'm starting to think about what to bring and I have a good idea of what I'll need but tell me...what's the one thing you forgot that you wish you'd brought? |

If you haven't found the following forum yet, I suggest that you check it out. There's a section specifically for Busanites:

I lived in Dadaepo which is 15 mins by bus from Hadan. It's a college area. It is home to Dong-a University and has a mild nightlife. There are the typical bars such as WA Bar etc... a plethora of noarebangs, dvd rooms and a McDonald's.
Its on the subway route which puts you 30 minutes from Seomyeon and 20 minutes from Nampodong. Overall its a nice area surrounded by your typical Korean treats and even a great mountain to hike behind the university, I think its called Seonhaksan. I hope this helped.

Busan is awesome. Much better than Seoul IMO. Pretty also, with of course mountains and the ocean. It's got some cool temples as well and plenty of shopping. |

Lived there just over 2 years. Hadan is like a small town attached to a city. Most of the interesting things to do in Busan are a fair ways removed. For example it takes about 30 minutes to go to Seomyon or Kyungsung. There aren't as many foreigners around Hadan and it feels and looks more like old Korea that some areas, such as Heaundea.
I miss my simple and quiet life there sometimes.
What school are you going to work for? Maybe I worked there. Please PM if you want some more information. |
