Help! A friend of mine is resigning her contract at our hagwon and will not be going home between contracts. How can she get a second criminal background check (as required by Korea) without leaving the country?
Thanks,
Sarah |

winnipeg police services. go to website, print the form, fill it in, check vss box, mail with credit card info. recommend express post there, and have them send it to a friend in canada who then express posts it back to you. about 30 dollars, and time using methods i described is about 18 days total. then go up to the consulate in seoul to get it stamped, submit to immigration and finisheee.
also if she is re-signing at the same school and she has already submitted a check for that job, then she shouldnt have to submit another one. generally new checks are required when changing jobs. might want to get the final word on that from immi though..... |

Easy, cheap and fast and was accepted by immigration for myself and many others who have used them recently. Fill out their forms and they'll mail your CRC within a few days. |

If she's re-signing with the school, and she already had a criminal check done, I don't think she needs another one. Same goes if she's transferring to a new school without leaving Korea. She'll just need a release letter in the latter case.
Immigration has the report on file. Call 1345. |

Even if she is re-signing with the same school she will need a new CRC. I am having one rushed here the week due to this new rule at immigration. |

I'll second http://www.cbmpara.ca (I had zero problems) and also recommend Winnipeg PD as I heard too that it is an easy and successful direction to go. |

I know this is an older post, but does anyone know if the Winnipeg police check is still acceptable. I checked the Winnipeg Police website, and they still appear to be issuing CBC's via mail.........I know in this post it mentions the VSS (I know that this is no longer required).
Can I just get this CBC mailed to an address in Canada and then mailed to me here in Korea?
How do I notarize it in Korea? .....at the Canadian Consulate in Seoul? |
