Unseasonal Sandstorms to Hit Korea
http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200812/200812030016.html
Unseasonal sandstorms hit Korea in December for the second year running. The Korea Meteorological Administration predicts the sandstorms will hit Korea more frequently than in previous years this winter due to a drought in Inner Mongolia, the origin of the sandstorms.
The KMA on Tuesday said dust from Inner Mongolia has been blowing into Korea since Tuesday morning, increasing dust to the level of 300 micrograms per cubic meter of air in Seoul and surrounding areas. It said Korea will see more frequent sandstorms this winter than in previous years due to continued drought and high temperature in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, Mongolia and Manchuria.

Yep, this region has to be the worst for climate and environment issues in the world. It's one of the most polluted places, the nearby desert is growing, and this country as well as East China are developed in such a way that destroyed the natural environment while there is all this burning going on everywhere. It's disgusting. There's no fresh breath of air here. |

That would explain why I've felt like crap the last day or two. I don't know how long I can live here. I like the money and the lifestyle, but I don't want to get lung cancer down the road. I never had problems like this in Cheongju. Sure, the air down there isn't good either, but I haven't had as many respiratory problems down there than I have up here.
Come here -> save up as much money as possible -> get the hell out. |

The dust has a continent's worth of heavy metals and other noxious goodies mixed in, mainly from Russia and China, some of which are carcinogenic. |

Uh, wow. It's not just dust. There are toxic particles from the 'yellow dust'.
Try having a clue before you open your mouth.
From Wiki:
"After inhalation, it can cause long term scarring of lung tissue as well as induce cancer and lung disease." |

Have you never picked up a newspaper?
The 'dust' has been tested to contain dioxins, and carcinogens from factory exhausts, and it gets more serious every year.
This isn't the same dust one might sweep off of their science book. |
