I'm wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences with living/visiting Bundang? Trying to avoid SUBURBIA and wondering what this city might have to offer. Looking for first hand knowledge. |

BUndang is suburbia.. but a nice one at that!
if you want the city life stay in seoul...
bundang is laid back , easy to move around , clean with all the things you need.. Big department stores, francise restaurants, parks, cinemas, gyms, etc.. it was voted in the top 5 cities to live in korea. its expensive for rent, but worth it.. I have lived there for 2 years.. but got so expensive I moved to Suji which is only like 15 minutes away.. and is the new city..
bundang is cool.. wont find many bars, or clubs to hang out in though..
let me know what it is you are acually after do.. |

Hey, Itaewonguy, thanks for the post. My friend and I orignally decided on Seoul. For the most, I'm pretty sure that's where we'll end up. However, someone recently mentioned that a lot of Foreigners enjoy/choose Bundang. We're into a really fun, up-beat tempo kind of lifestyle. Of course we love the countryside, trees, parks etc, but figured we'd leave that as an option in for a getaway on weekends...go hiking traveling etc. I'm from a quiet..but beautiful small town....the equivalent to peaceful living....but the price you pay is boredom....trying to avoid just that....More recently I've been enjoying the city lifestyle and loving it.... |

do yourself a favor and go to seoul ... unless you fancy taking a one hour bus every weekend. |

Taking a one hour bus is alot better than being 3 or 4 hours away from Seoul...^^ |

Depends on which bus you take. When I lived in Bundang (last contract), it was better to take the 9000 instead of the 1005-1. Both go to Hannam-dong and Gwanghamun, but the 1005-1 also stops in Gangnam, so you can find youself stuck in serious traffic. The 9000 doesn't get off the expressway until Hannam-dong.
Plus, with the Bundang subway line going all the way to the green line (at Seoulleung) it's much quicker than it used to be.
I found Bundang to be a nice place to live, and may even go back there (I'm in Ansan now) if I stick around a bit longer. There are plenty of bars and most neighborhoods have at least one or two bars that attract a fair number of expats. |
