|
|
Hi.
I want to download some NFL games. Any games, I don't care, haven't seen a game in over three years.
I use isohunt.com, but there's nothing there. Has anyone had success with a different site?
Thanks. |

This is the site I've been getting feeds off of.
Quality is O.K. but it is free. |

i paid for the yahoo nfl pass and am thinking it was a waste of money.
the main reason is that I am not nearly as excited about watching games (mostly on Sundays) once they are over.
in order to do that, you have to be up at 3 am Korean time. Missing sleep on a number of Sundays in the last month turned out to be a horrible decision that my body regretted for the entire week.
also... I've found that if you go www.nfl.com they will actually show you the highlights of almost anything relevant that happened in any given game, as well as individual player highlights, which I like because I am an avid player of fantasy football.
but free is good! no matter what time and even if it's something as boring as Chargers/Raiders .. |

I paid for the NFL.com HD package this year and it was well worth the $240....if you want to watch for free get sopcast and you get what you pay for...crappy feeds that sometimes work and sometimes don't and you'll never know until game time. Plus you have to watch live which is tough for the east coast games as 2 or 3am is not the time I want to start watching a game.
The Yahoo based service isn't much better than the free feeds, but the HD package directly through NFL.com has been great....you can watch the games at any time and so if you watch the games 3-4 hours after they finish then the commercials are already pulled out. So I can watch 2-3 games in a day without it taking all day....plus you have quick access to all of the games so you can easily switch between games, or just fast forward and watch the endings of the good games. Plus if you're diligent about not checking scores you could in theory have 1-2 games to watch every day all week.
At any rate...if you're a football fan I'd highly recommend it. I know that we are used to everything on the internet being free...but this package really is a cut above. All of the games are broadcast in HD, so when you put it full-screen on your computer you can actually watch the game as if it were on TV and the signal is crystal clear....at first I thought that $240 was a little high as MLB for example charges $150 for the entire baseball season, but now as the season is winding down I have no buyers remorse and will definitely buy the package again next season.
You can pay like $20 for one week and try out the service and then you will know if you want to buy the package for next season.
Anyhow...if you're serious about wanting to watch NFL then don't be cheap, this is a service that actually is a cut-above the crappy free option. I used sopcast the last 2 seasons and grew tired of wondering each week if my game would be on and then if the feed would be decent.
We all make enough money here to shell out $15/week to have access to every single NFL game whenever you'd like to watch it. |

in fairness, the yahoo games are all available until sometime Wednesday of the following week.
so no... you don't have to watch it live.
I'm curious if that HD format would look much better on my small laptop screen |

justin.tv had been quite good for live nfl games but in the past couple of weeks the nfl found out about the site and have been shutting down the streams, the quality on todays raider game was godawful.
try myp2p.eu and check their forums tvants seems to now be the streaming option of choice its slow as hell to get started though
looks like next season i may have to bite the bullet and get the gamepass. i think its way overpriced for us here in asia given the time difference |

You can download most of the games after the fact on newsgroups. I wouldn't say that is free, a top newsgroup server will run like $25 a month. I use giganews.com and they have lots of retention, so if you were to want to go back and grab games from the beginning of the season, a lot are still up there.
Since I am back in Canada i just watch them live, but last year I was using sopcast and it drove me crazy. From Korea it is just such a low budget way of watching what should be an enjoyable event. If I knew of that NFL.com package I would have paid that in a New York minute. The NFL has really stepped up to the plate when it comes to delivering their games...you just have to pay for that privilege, or hit newsgroups or torrents. |

To answer the question about whether the HD feed is that much better....absolutely, it's like night and day. I paid for a couple games last year via yahoo late in the season as I grew frustrated with sopcast and I found that the quality was no better than sopcast (other than the fact that the feed is not shut down)...you get what you pay for, bar none. If you like football then the NFL HD package is the only way to go. We pay zero dollars a month for rent, so what's 60 bucks to watch every single game?
I am not sure what would happen if two people tried to log in at the same time, but it's possible that you could share one account. My guess is that they're smarter than that, though.
Part of the issue is that Americans are spoiled in that our sports are free at home (albeit paid by numerous commercial breaks), Europeans would line up to pay $240 for every single match all season. |
