That would indeed be cool, and I've just spent entirely too much time since you wrote that scouring Naver and the YBM websites looking for the advertisement for you, but to no avail. Not your average idea of fun, sure, but then I do blog about Korean advertising and all Very Happy

If it's online, and you can give me the exact phrase you saw, then I'll definitely be able to find it. That's a big "if" though, as surprisingly (and very annoyingly), most Korean advertisements aren't automatically put online at companies' websites, despite Koreans being heavily into videos of the makings of CFs and all. Personally, I'm getting really tired of lugging my camera around with me everywhere to avoid missing the good ones.

Personally, these adverts are stupid as hell.

Imagine if we had these kinds of adverts back home...

"Better learn ebonics if you wanna get with that black man... cause dat lingo you need to be jivin down with it, if you wanna be livin in it."

Maybe cause I'm asian I'm a bit biased on the whole "white man taking asian women thing". To be honest, there's a fair amount of angst in the male asian community even in America against white guys taking "our" women. No joke and I know some people don't acknowledge it but there are youtube videos about that sort of thing. Anyways, I'm ok with it, most of my family members are mixed and if I didn't have asian fever so bad I probably would have hooked up with a many white girls.

Anyways, I do like these adverts in the way that they'll get people motivated to speak English. But I think it's a bit retarded (excuse the term but it fits perfectly) to state the obvious. Really now? I need to speak English to talk to the English speaking foreigner? Well, if I had known that sooner maybe I would have learned English. Thanks AD for making the obvious even more obvious. Now all I need is a way to talk to the Russians...Hmmm confusin for me... very...

Ads like these need to know the art of subtley. Much like the pocky commericals in Japan. They show an Asian woman prancing in a field of flowers with a hunky white man. It's visual, but they don't say "eat pocky, get a white man".

These love foreigner ads can EASILY do the same thing. All they have to do is show an Asian women talking to a white man... Jesus chirst it's like everyday I get at least 1 reminder of how stupid people are...

So is "hella". You're not on the West Coast anymore.

Interesting.

Some k girls have told me about "friends" who only go to a certain hagwon cos the teacher is handsome. Sounds like a sweet gig, having a class full of girls who are hot for you.

"Hell of" is obviously much more appropriate.
