I know, I know. This question has been asked a million times, but I can't seem to find any answers with the search function. I'm sorry in advance.
Anyway, I've been in Korea for almost three months, and things aren't going well at my school. It's too complicated to get into, but as a result of everything that has happened, I'm looking into switching schools. Please note, my school is NOT a bad chain, I just stumbled into a branch that is having some internal personnel problems.
Anyway, before I give my notice, I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on what needs to be done to go about changing schools. I am planning on giving my school the notice required in my contract (65 days) and I am confident that I won't be terminated on the spot or be refused my LOR. Like I said, my school is a decent place, it's just not working out for me.
So, if I get a LOR from my school, is it possible to just change the visa over? Or do I need to resubmit all of my documentation (background check, transcripts, diploma, etcetcetc)?
Any light that you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

don't you have to reimburse your airfare if you quit before six months?
you don't care about that?
well, I don't know how much it will get better at different academy, but wish you the best. |

I can answer this easily: Find another job. Once you do so, go to immigration with your employer with all the papers THEY require. Hand over your passport and believe it or not that s all you require. VERY SIMPLE.
You don't need a University transcript, CRC, HC or any other documentation if you submitted them before.
Have your transcript just in case but all I had to submit was my passport. They stamp the Visa inside - effect internal paperwork - change employers and you are outta there in 30 minutes or less. |

What about the nine month rule for transferring a visa? Is that no longer an issue? |

Actually, I'm contractually obligated to reimburse my airfare no matter when I leave my school. Since I can't stick it out for nine more months, I'm just going to cut my losses and attempt to have my new school reimburse me for some of the flight cost. I have friends who work at a different academy and love it. One of them is leaving in February, and if all goes well, I can take her job, which would be the best situation.

Thank you! I'll be sure to double check with my new school to see what they need. I'm very happy that I don't need all those documents again...that would have been a pain. Thanks again!
