odd. I cannot find any stories on this website about the huge fire yesterday in Ichon.
yesterday afternoon my wife and I headed to Seoul from Gangwondo.
as we neared Ichon we saw a huge column of smoke off in the distance and a bunch of helicopters flying around doing waterbombing.
traffic was backed up both ways and as we got closer to the smoke we saw a huge warehouse on fire.
my wife said it was on the same property as the warehouse fire 6 months ago that all the foreign workers died in and it was owned by the same owner (coincidence?)
when we got to our hotel in Seoul we watched the news on t.v. and saw that the fire had started in the morning and bodies were being pulled out.
when we passed it this afternoon there was still a massive column of smoke but the fire was out.
nothing about it on this site, not even current events. |

Dave's ESL Cafe is the last place I'd look for serious news...

Fire fighters found another body in a cold storage warehouse in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, that caught fire Friday, raising the death toll to seven in total, they said, Sunday.
Officers from the Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters found the body ㅡ presumed to be Lee Hyeon-seok, 26 ㅡ who was reported missing following the fire in the warehouse's basement.
An arrest warrant was sought for two welders identified as Kang and Nam as police speculate their carelessness caused the fire, officers said.
The fire ripped through the warehouse under renovation, Friday morning.
Shortly after the fire was discovered, an estimated 70 workers were evacuated from the building but seven workers, mostly welders, failed to escape from the basement, said police. The victims are believed to have died from suffocation and serious burns.
Icheon is home to many warehouses, due to its proximity to Seoul. A similar warehouse fire in the same city killed 40 people and injured 10 others in January.

You scared me badly with your title.
I thought What The Book was gone.
Thank God I was wrong. |

Nothing to boast about, no foreigners to blame, therefore no big news. |
