I've heard about Now Bar and apparently I'm 20 mins walk from the Crazy Duck. If anyones interested mail or facebook me.

I imagine you have other foriegners working at your hagwon who should be happy to have a few drinks with you.

If that isn't the case, I can meet up with you if you're looking for a suwon foreigner to ease the transition. I don't have enough postings yet on these boards to send a pm, post back I guess if you'd like to meet up this weekend or next.

I haven't heard of Kwonson dong, but I live fairly close to Ingyedong which is where the crazy duck is.

The duck's been a bit sketchy recently....couple of people I know have had some attitude from Korean guys there, and one got punched in the face last weekend.

Now Bar's got a much friendlier atmosphere....just jump in a cab and ask the driver to take you to the Home Plus in Yeongtong-gu....then go two blocks behind Home Plus and two to the left. It's on the 2nd or 3rd floor (can't remember which) of a building at the intersection you'll find yourself at if you follow these directions. You can't miss it.

Welcome to Suwon. It's a pretty swell town, but not a huge selection of places to go at night if you want to see other foreigners. The Crazy Duck has indeed been rough lately. I was also there when that guy (my friend) got punched and it was totaly unprovoked.

That said, you'll end up there eventually and probably often. NOW bar in Yeongtong is great and very chill. Figure it's a 7-8 dollar cab ride from Ingyedong, though.

I'd be up for meeting some time this week for a few beers. I've no idea how to get to the Duck or Now bar but if someone wants to meet up near Kwonsun that'd be cool. The only real landmark that I've seen so far ais the big Tesco store opposite the olympic gardens. This near anyone?
There's a part time english teacher in at my school today so I'll see if they can direct me to anywhere good.
