|
|
I'm planning to build/buy a new computer here in Korea. Anyone have any spec advice on what I should be looking for in components, and where would be the best place/way to get them?
I am looking for something to use for higher end gaming (but not ridiculously high). I have some equipment being sent over from the states (like my previous hard drive, 3 gigs of ram, a decent (previous generation) video card, which I may or may not keep).
Any advice? Didn't really get much help from the technology forum. |

First, you should have posted this in tech forum. Second, do a search, there are numerous threads on this that will help you w/ choosing components and get a feel of the pricing as well as having it built while u wait in Yongson. Remember, prices are gonna be a little more than before the won took a dive a few months back. And, I advise you to bring over 4g's of ram in matched 2g sticks. Corsair is a nice quality brand. Also, you might want to state ur budget for the build and add whether or not that's gonna include a monitor and what size. Personally, I wouldn't go lower than a 24' and a 26' would be optimum if ur gaming.
These are the cpu's you're gonna be looking at.

Zalman makes a good 600w PSU for 100,000....
Hope this helps and good luck w/ the build. |

Check review sites for components....you'll eventually figure it out....and obviously prepare to walk aroudn yongsan a bit...dont jump at the first shop that throws you a decent deal.
Lastly, if a case that isn't roaringl loud is a factor, try to get a case that can fit 120 mm case fans....the quiestest case fans in korea are scythe and notcua....you can get them in Yongsan... a few shops sell them...only one has scythe and it's the fan super store in theat big beige building....
Lastly, the guy abose suggested 24' or 26 inches....22 or even 19'inches will be fine.
However, if you got the money to blow, You can always go the HD tv route and buy an HD tv to use as a monitor. |
