"It's a long shot.. but it just might work"
Does anybody in the Jinju area (or within an hour or so bus ride) need or desire to head home for a few weeks mid January to mid Feb? I'll be in Korea during this time (winter vacation at my university in China) but unable to match the wintercamp schedules.
Please PM me for further details.... Just a quick personal rundown: 30 years old, professional attitude (despite the stuff i might write on daves) I have earned my stripes in hagwons, three years experience; TESOL cert, Masters degree (Hydrology/GIS/cartography), six months (so far) university teaching.... freelance cartoonist, terrible singer, ...and.... it short circuits my cerebral synapses to admit it... but i actually miss teaching kids. I'm happy to pay for travel expenses and hotel accomodation etc.... it'd just be nice to not to have to further extend the credit card while in the country...
Not sure of the legalities....
ahhhh well, its worth a try... |

you know, i had two years in jinju (and another year nearby) and yet never got involved in the jinju group. Can't remember what it was called now... JinjuESL? maybe its not the same group. Four years ago, for whatever reason, there was just too much petty squabbling.... nothing i wanted to be part of... I was content to just cruise around on the motorbike, the loner biker and hiker...
But yeah, maybe that is an option. thanks |

Is Jinju a city or is it near Seoul?
I love to have someone take over my job for a month or two. And, my director might like the idea herself.
PM if interested. |

Thanks for the reply John... I tried to PM but for whatever reason my computer won't do it...
Ummm, yeah, Jinju is a city in the southern part of the country. About an hour from Busan. The reason I'm going there during my vacation is because Jinju is my girlfriends hometown. The trouble is she'll be busy working there, and I can't really afford to go for long without working myself. A few weeks fill-in work (mid jan to mid feb) would tie in beautifully. Working in Soeul (if that's where you are) would defeat the main purpose of going to Korea. If you are a bit closer than Soeul however I might be keen.
Thanks again for your reply. |
