Hi all. I'm new here and I just posted this in a sticky thread but I'm looking for a quick answer so I can either move on or continue trying to find a teaching job in s. korea. so here it is:

I am currently trying to find a teaching job in s. korea. i actually have a couple of offers on the table right now. my only problem is with my criminal history.

I have a Possession of a Controlled Substance ARREST from 2003 and I got a deferred judgment on that charge (it was for marijuana fyi). It shows up on my criminal history but it is NOT a conviction. That is the only thing on my criminal record.

Is this going to keep me from getting a visa for South Korea?

If you have anything on your background check then it won't be possible to get a work visa for South Korea.

One possibility is to get a CBC from another state, but I'm not sure if it's acceptable...Question

Maybe someone who has experience with this can chime in and give you some hope!
