I'll be living in Daegu in a matter of weeks, can I get a tailored suit there, embarrassingly cheap like I hear you can do in China?

You can get them cheap, expensive, and everywhere in between in Seoul. I've heard Osan as well. Not sure about Daegu I'm afraid, but if not, Seoul is a weekend trip away.

I haven't yet seen these infamous shiny suits, but I can tell you quite sincerely that I do not want a shiny suit.

I saw a tailor`s shop on Jungangno but I dont know if it`s any good. Not shady, brightly lit. He was selling real suits, not tin foil garbage. Maybe near exit 2 on the Woori bank side and then walk out.

Someone I knew last year paid about w200 000 for a tailored suit. That's about twice the prices in South-East Asia.

In the US - it seemed like a good idea to phone the most expensive department store in the area, and ask them who they recommend for tailoring...

Dunno if that works in Korea (nor if it works in the US, I only read it, I think in GQ, but never tried)

Any Cheong-ju tailored suits advice would be super appreciated as well.

In Daegu try at the American Military Base near the gate. I think it is Camp Walker in the back street area is one or two tailors and they will be able to deal with you in English.

Good luck!
