Today I re-signed with my uni, which is 90 minutues away from Seoul by train. All's well, as it is a great job with great terms. Problem? Social life is dismal. All my co-teachers are flakes (I hope you guys are reading this). So, I am thinking of commuting to Seoul for a social life. I drink, but not much. I think Itaewon is gross. What else is there?

Don't live outside seoul for starters...

Other fun areas to hit the town in seoul: Konkuk, Sinchon(and Sincheon), Apgujeong, and Kangnam.....to many people only head to Hongdae or itaewon...

You can also find a group of local foreigners there or in a nearby city...my friend was bored as **** living near, but outside seoul....he's found some local foreigners to hang out with so it's better....although he still wants to move.

I suggest you get a PMP or a PSP to pass the time on the subway ride...if you thought you bored then, it's only gonna get more boring now that your used to living there.

I have some friends who live in Bundang, Suwon, or Incheon City who come into Seoul every once in a while. They say that the train ride into Seoul isn't too bad, but you basically have to stay out until the subway opens up again at 5:30 and then trek back to wherever when you are drunk and exhausted. Having to do this everytime you come into Seoul seems terrible. I mean, Hongdae and Gangnam are fun and all...but I could only do that every so often.

But you can ride it pretty late.

I think they stop letting people on around 11;45, but the train runs for about an hour or so more....so just make it on by that time and you'll be fine....
